Succession acquisition of MERWAG Gibswil AG agreed by BACHTEL GROUP

As of 28 December 2017, the BACHTEL GROUP has acquired the majority of the share capital in MERWAG Gibswil AG. With this transaction, the two previous owners, brothers René and Hansjörg Lutz, have arranged their succession. Hansjörg Lutz will continue to have operational responsibility for MERWAG as joint owner and managing director, while René Lutz will oversee the handover of his company responsibilities as a member of the executive board for at least one year. The next chapter of MERWAG's success story is therefore going to be written with a maximum of continuity, ensuring the company's sustainable development.

MERWAG's site in Gibswil will be extended to become the BACHTEL GROUP's Competence Centre for metalworking. The collaboration between MERWAG and Group companies KANYA AG in Rüti (ZH), ALTRATEC Automation GmbH in Germany and ECO PHYSICS in Dürnten (ZH) gives the Group the opportunity to add further depth to its added value and to offer its customers complementary products and solutions in the fields of machinery and plant engineering.

Following the takeover of Kanya AG in 2008 and Altratec Automation GmbH in 2013, plus the stake taken in Eco Physics AG in 2016, MERWAG Gibswil AG is now the BACHTEL GROUP's fourth succession acquisition.
