Drive Options for Timing Belt Conveyors
End drive indirect
The timing pulley is connected to the drive via a Timing belt. This drive type ensures a minimal installations width and is used wherever a direct head drive is not possible due to space constraints.
Drive selection 400 V*: SEW, NORD
Model used with: ZF 40/40 and ZF 40/80
*24V drive also available
End drive direct
The drive is connected directly to the toothed pulley via a coupling. This drive type consists of a compact, economical assembly and transmits the torque directly to the drive shaft.
Drive selection 400 V*: SEW, NORD
Model used with: ZF 40/80
*24V drive also available
Without drive
The cost-effective solution for multi-line systems: several conveyors are mechanically coupled via connecting shafts and operated in perfect synchronisation. Ideal for expanding existing systems or for connecting the customer’s own motors via a flange.
Motor and terminal box positioning
For optimum integration into the system, the drive can be mounted on either the left or right-hand side of the conveyor.
Maximum flexibility and excellent accessibility are achieved through the independent alignment of the motor and terminal box: both can be individually positioned in precise 90° increments. This modular design enables space-saving integration even in demanding production environments.
Frequently asked questions
Which drive types are available for the Kanya timing belt conveyor?
The Kanya timing belt conveyor is available with a direct head drive, an indirect head drive or without a motor. The appropriate drive type depends on the conveying task, installation conditions and required integration.
What is the difference between a direct and an indirect head drive on a timing belt conveyor?
With a direct head drive, the motor acts on the drive shaft through a coupling. With an indirect head drive, the drive force is transmitted via a timing belt.
Can a timing belt conveyor be supplied without a motor?
The timing belt conveyor can also be configured without a motor, for example to couple multiple conveyors or connect customer-supplied drives.
Which motors are available for the Kanya timing belt conveyor?
The timing belt conveyor is designed for 400 V motors from SEW or NORD. A 24 V version is also available.
Can the conveying speed of the timing belt conveyor be controlled?
Yes. A frequency inverter (VFD) allows the conveying speed to be adapted to the process and controlled over a variable range, depending on the specification.
How flexibly can the motor and terminal box be positioned on the timing belt conveyor?
The motor and terminal box can be positioned in 90° increments. This allows the drive to be adapted to the available installation space and access requirements.
